LVL Up
Experiencing pain or recovering from an injury? Need to improve your mobility? Las Vegas’s new up-and-coming physical therapy business applies a variety of treatment practices to whatever ails you. At LVL Up, your needs come first.
The LVL Up Team
Opened in October 2020 by Laureina Cheng (Co-Owner, PTA) and Evan Bishop (Owner, PT, DPT), LVL Up cares for patients of all ages, treating everyone to the best of their individual ability and needs.
In a recent interview, Laureina Cheng stated, “I’ve always wanted to open up a clinic! The opportunity showed itself when I received my occupational associate’s degree to become a physical therapist assistant in 2019, and the perfect medical office became available within the next few months!”
Born in Reno, NV, Cheng moved to Las Vegas at four years old. Graduating from UNLV in 2017, she received her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology.
According to LVL Up’s website, Evan Bishop has been a physical therapist in the Las Vegas Valley for over seven years and a combined experience of over 13 years in the industry. He holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Touro University Nevada in Las Vegas and a bachelor’s in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. Before becoming a physical therapist, he was a personal fitness trainer and coach.
“When it comes to physical therapy, Bishop is diligent in his patient care,” the website states. “He’s hands-on with his treatments and very involved in the progression of patient treatment plans. He genuinely cares about you, your progress, and the accomplishment of your goals.”
Together, Cheng and Bishop combine their experience to treat a wide range of patients. Moreover, with Cheng fluent in Chinese Cantonese and Bishop fluent in Spanish, the two expand their practice to even more people.
Services Offered
LVL Up Physical Therapy offers a wide range of services. They offer orthopedic and post-surgical rehabilitation, spinal rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, electrical stimulation, thermal therapy, cryotherapy, and much more. LVL Up has over 20 different therapeutic treatments and interventions. “We stress on patient care and getting to know our patients!” Cheng said. “We believe that in order to satisfy every patient’s needs fully, we must create specific plans for each patient.”
LVL Up accepts many different insurances such as Aetna, Beech Street, Geha, Medicare, and several more. If you’re uninsured, they offer affordable cash pay rates and a 10-visit package deal for cash-pay patients. This deal reduces the prices from evaluations and re-evaluations.
Covid-19 Precautions
With the global pandemic still lingering, LVL Up ensures both patients’ and workers’ safety by setting a few guidelines. All patients and workers must wear face masks at all times and temperatures are taken before patients are allowed to go through with their appointment.
In addition, they sanitize all the equipment after each use, and patients who are sick or experiencing any COVID-like symptoms are asked to reschedule their appointment. All patients receive a COVID-19 questionnaire before every appointment.
The Goal
LVL Up Physical Therapy’s main goal is to treat every patient of all ages to their fullest extent. “Our motto is ‘Don’t just feel better – LVL UP’ and we truly want our patients to walk out feeling better than they did walking in,” Cheng stated. “We want to make physical therapy more about genuine patient care and leave everyone that walks out feeling happy, well treated, and satisfied.”
