Las Vegas Fashion Council
When thinking about fashion, many think of Paris and New York, but Las Vegas also offers a lot. With our city’s uniqueness and ever-evolving entertainment scene, the Las Vegas Fashion Council helps diversify and expand the Las Vegas fashion industry internationally.
In 2011, Carrie Carter Cooper founded the LVFC as a nonprofit and opened its headquarters on West Russell Road and South Decatur Boulevard. With a background in print modeling and fashion, Cooper also expresses her passion for this industry as the founder and president of the Best Agency modeling and talent agency.
Mission
As a diverse and inclusive organization, the Las Vegas Fashion Council strives to reach a global market outside of Las Vegas and attempts to expand the local fashion industry to an internationally recognized level. Its main objective is to show Las Vegas’s potential as the next global fashion leader.
As one of the top 10 international shopping destinations represented by many couture brands, Las Vegas is a perfect place to introduce fashion on the world stage. Through collaborations, support from the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and the FY23 Project Grant For Organizations recipient, the LVFC merges Las Vegas into the global fashion industry.
Dedicated to advancing Las Vegas fashion designers internationally, the LVFC helps designers in the community showcase their designs. In particular, the Council helps students interested in the fashion industry by offering scholarships. Students wanting to study fashion design, costume design, graphic design, fashion media and journalism, and other fields can receive aid from the LVFC.

Events
In addition, the Las Vegas Fashion Council hosts events to allow designers to exhibit their talent and compete with others in the same field. It also holds several signature events, including its artLIVE and annual Little Black Dress event. The Council also has plans for 2023, including events not hosted before. “These will include award shows, education events, and an official Vegas Fashion Week,” Cooper said.
As a visual art style best interpreted in person, the pandemic significantly impacted the fashion industry and the LVFC. “We were not able to hold in-person events for quite some time due to shutdowns but also factored in public safety,” Cooper explained. “We were able to have online conversations, zoom meetings, and hold virtual auctions.”
On December 1st, the LVFC will hold its annual Little Black Dress event at the Gaudin Porsche dealership from 6 to 8 p.m. You can purchase tickets on their website and use this opportunity to check them out and show your support for this growing organization.
The Las Vegas Fashion Council Gets in Motion With the Community
Always philanthropically involved in the community herself, Cooper continues to contribute by partnering with various companies through the Las Vegas Fashion Council. Working with companies such as the Public Education Foundation, Dress For Success, Springs Preserve, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, Safe Nest, and many others, the LVFC helps sew success for those in need in Las Vegas.
The LVFC, in turn, needs help from the community as well. We rely on the support of our community to assist us with raising funds for events, scholarships, and operations through ticket sales, auctions, and sponsorships,” Cooper stated.
To support the LVFC and keep up with their work and events, subscribe to their monthly mailing list on their website and stay up to date by following them on their Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
