First Friday Fundraising For the Arts

First Friday Art Gala and Fundraiser

This weekend, The First Friday Foundation of Las Vegas is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an art gala and fundraiser to support the work that the organization does within the Las Vegas community! Scheduled during the weekend of Life is Beautiful, the First Friday Foundation hopes to offer alternative, exciting events Friday through Sunday for locals unable to attend LIB to be a part of.

Held at the Ahern Hotel on September 16th from 6 to 10 pm, the event will feature live entertainment and art activations by local artists, like Tiki Jay and Bluumango, as well as a live auction and silent auction.

Cocktail hour will be held from 6 to 7 pm, followed by auctions of items and baskets curated with in-kind donations from local artists, businesses, and other non-profit organizations.

All proceeds will benefit the First Friday Foundation to fund the monthly festival, stipends for local artists to create art in the community, and much more.

“We are excited to share this evening with gala guests and commemorate 20 years of First Friday events  in the community.  This gala will help us to raise funds to continue creating a positive impact through creative efforts in our city”, said Corey Fagan, the executive director of the Foundation.

FFFLV is best known as the organization that puts on the monthly arts and culture festival in the Arts District every first Friday of the month in downtown Las Vegas, and is becoming known for all of the ancillary projects outside of the event that the foundation supports throughout the year.

‘Let’s Get Wild’

With the First Friday gala and fundraiser on Friday, the foundation is also collaborating with another local non profit in support of  the ‘Let’s Get Wild Gala’ on Saturday the 17th,  Dazzle Africa. This nonprofit works to support wildlife conservation and local people in Africa.

As Dazzle Africa’s  first in-person event since 2019, the proceeds of the event will benefit and help create “massive positive change for wildlife conservation, rural Zambian students, and communities needing access to clean water.”

This event will also be held at the Ahern Hotel, from 6 to 11 pm. The suggested attire is Safari Chic–”throw a flare of safari into your style.”
