Avantpop Bookstore Hosts Poetry in the Reading Room

‘Outcasts’ poetry night at the Reading Room with Avantpop Bookstore

Avantpop Bookstore to Host Poetry in the Reading Room

On Sunday, September 24th, from 6–8:30 PM, Avantpop Bookstore hosts their second seasonal event, “Intimate Evenings of ‘Outcasts’ Poetry in the Reading Room.” This event is the first of their themed poetry nights this year hosted at the Office of Collecting and Design of Las Vegas.

According to Sugar Laytart, co-owner of Avantpop, “the whole space is beautifully decorated” and features a cozy Reading Room for poetry reading. Due to the small space with 10-15 people capacity, Avantpop titled the event ‘Intimate Evening.’

“The series was originally created to build up to our Poetry Arcade, an all-day event featuring many local poets,” Laytart said. “We will be doing the Poetry Arcade again in December after our 5-night series.”

Purchase your ticket for the ‘Outcasts’ event here for $15.

In October, the themes include “Obsessions” on the 15th and “Invisible Ghosts” on the 22nd. In November, the themes are “Sensuality” on the 12th and “Fear and Loathing” on the 19th.

Avantpop also hosts another monthly poetry event at Red Dwarf called ‘Doomed Poetry,’ with the next event scheduled for Monday, September 25th at 9 PM.
